All-In-One Compilation Pack
As an all-in-one compilation pack, Sentinel's Fate contains all five previous expansion packs and three adventure packs for EverQuest II. Together this provides for the most complete overall EverQuest II playing experience to date, and presents the next chapter of the EverQuest II legacy which will be written and rewritten by the passion of players and fueled by the hunger for adventure.

Gameplay
EverQuest II is one of the preeminent MMO's in PC gaming market, and as such gameplay in the Sentinel's Fate expansion pack sticks with the classic RPG elements that have made the series one of the most popular since its 2004 release. Set in the fictional world of Norrath, players create a character from a variety of available races and character classes and subclasses. From there they are free to quest to their heart's delight, by themselves or more likely in the company of members of guilds that they join or create. Success in these quests earn individual characters and their guilds rewards that can be used to aquire new in-game equipment and abilities that are crucial to leveling up characters and proceeding through the game. As with all MMO's, socialization is a major component of the game, encouraged by features such as voice chat, a mail system, global chat channels, and a global marketplace where items can be sold and/or traded. The game requires an Internet connection and a paid subscription for online play. A 30-day subscription is included with the purchase price.

5 out of 5 stars Good Job on This One   March 22, 2010

A lot better than the past couple of expansions, Sentinal's Fate has excellent graphics, spans a large "world" and really is overall better than what I have seen in the past. It is also much more player friendly making it a lot more fun! Although, I am not real happy with the level cap being raised to 90 (I think perhaps level-ups in increments of 5 would have been better) you don't have to be max level to enjoy it, crafting or adventuring. Good job SOE!

5 out of 5 stars Great Game   April 11, 2010

After many years playing WoW - my and my friends decided to try out EQ2. So far it has been a great game, and we have been impressed. The character development / advancement is much, much more in depth. The game being, overall, much more of a hard-core role playing game then the more action oriented WoW. The overall package is not as "smooth" as WoW, but still impressive.

The level of choices (24 classes, 18 races, class customization) make is so you really feel like you have an individual character - this was missing from WoW. End-game characters all looked and played relatively the same.

Anyway, if you want a good, hard-core MMORPG with a satisfyingly high learning curve this is a great choice.

I have been an EQ / EQ2 fan since the beginning and I love expansions! This one takes us to 90, awesome. Love the game play and new zones - go buy it!

The expansion is as expected from Sony. In the gaming world the paramount concern was it arriving on opening day so I could jump into the new content firsthand. In that respect 5 stars the product showed in the mail on release day and was waiting for me when I got home from work!!!

This game takes you to Odus, the land of the Erudites and the ugly amphibious mounts from Everquest.

The new content isn't as streamlined as it was in TSO and RoK, but it doesn't waste any of your time (for the most part). You wont be playing for 12 hours a day and over the first two weeks of the expansion getting to level 90, but you will spend some extra time getting to the max AA level.

AAs: Are now handled in a similar way to how they are in Everquest. However, you still gain achievement experience from quests, named kills, etc. But you can choose to allocate a portion or all of your primary experience to your AAs (similar to disabling combat in the previous versions).

Quests: Make sure you check your mail!!! that is all I have to say about that.

Encounters: The expansion encounters (overland zones) are easier than they were in EoF, RoK, and TSO. They can still throw down the fisticuffs, but it takes some really horrible planning to die.

Advancement: I've played about 8 hours total since I bought the discs, and I'm already level 84. There are already level 90s running around, and I'm sure people are really close to having max AAs. I wouldn't doubt it if guilds have already taken out multiple raid bosses.

Pros: Leveling is a lot faster than I'm used to, but I've spent the past 4 months trying to level in Aion (so anything seems like it's prom night now). The quests don't drag on and on and on like they did in the past expansions (ie taking 20 kills to get 2 updates). Gear looks a bit better in some ways. Its realatively stable on Permafrost. Battlegrounds? (I haven't been in any yet). New AAs make you want to spend points into the Class and Subclass Trees.

Cons: They took away wizard ports.... They implemented a gear nerf, which will fubar your Epics, raid/shard gear, etc at level 90... The map interface still sucks. It'll cost you two kidneys and a liver to upgrade your spells to Expert or higher for a while..
